1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Plaintext Cybersecurity ("we", "us"), based in Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic, handles personal data when you use plaintext.do and our contact form. We act as the controller of the data described here.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following information:
- Contact form: full name, email address, company (optional), service of interest (optional) and the content of your message.
- Technical data at submission: your IP address and the date and time you sent the form, recorded in the email we receive and in a short-lived, hashed record used to limit repeated submissions.
- Bot verification: a verification token generated by Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm that a person, not an automated program, sent the form.
- Analytics (only if you accept): pages visited, referring page, and approximate device and browser information, collected through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
- Browser preferences: your cookie choice (accept or reject) and your display theme (light or dark), stored in your browser.
Please do not send sensitive personal data (such as health, financial or identification numbers, or passwords) through the contact form.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- reply to your inquiry and, if relevant, prepare a proposal;
- protect the Website and our inbox against spam, abuse and automated attacks;
- understand how the Website is used and improve it, but only if you accept analytics cookies;
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use the information from the contact form to send marketing emails.
4. How the contact form works
When you submit the form, your message is delivered by email to our team inbox. Our reply is sent directly to the email address you provided. Submissions are limited to a small number per visitor within a short period of time to prevent abuse.
5. Service providers
We rely on the following providers to operate the Website. They process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies:
- our web hosting provider, which hosts the Website and delivers the contact form emails;
- Cloudflare, Inc., which provides the Turnstile verification service;
- Google LLC, which provides Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
Some of these providers may process data outside the Dominican Republic, including in the United States.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Consent Mode. Analytics and advertising storage are disabled by default and are enabled only if you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you click "Reject", no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage, and you can change it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
Turnstile may set technical cookies or similar storage needed to verify the form. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.
7. How long we keep data
We keep contact form messages only for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and handle any follow-up, and for any period required by law. Rate-limiting records are kept for a short time, only for the period needed to apply the limits. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of Google Analytics.
8. Security
We use HTTPS to encrypt data in transit between your browser and the Website, and we limit access to the inbox that receives contact messages. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Under Law No. 172-13 on the Comprehensive Protection of Personal Data of the Dominican Republic, you have the right to access, rectify, delete and object to the processing of your personal data, and to be informed about it. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected] with the subject "Data request" and include enough information for us to identify you. We will respond within the time limits set by law.
10. Third-party links
The Website links to third-party sites such as LinkedIn and Instagram. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, so please review their privacy policies.
11. Children
The Website is intended for professionals and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
